Music is the most abstract art form; hence, it is a universal language without boundaries. It is also the most personal and intimate transcription of our feelings. The more we understand its language the more enhanced our musical experience will be.

mediaHYPERIUM, Inc. was founded in Redondo Beach in April 1996 and has established a reputation as a premier and future oriented production facility with a remarkable award-winning track record: 2 GRAMMY awards (the most coveted international music award), TEC Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement, DVD Entertainment Award for Best Music DVD, Surround Sound Music Award, and Finalist of the Billboard DEMX Awards for “Music DVD of the Year”.

HERBERT WALTL began his musical education at the age of five and subsequently studied with the renowned pianist and composer Franz Hummel. Parallel to his intensive training with Mr. Hummel, he attended the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich, Germany. Initially specializing in Beethoven, he made numerous concerts, as well as recordings and radio and television broadcasts in Europe and the US. Equally interested in composing, he was offered the position of Composer-in-Residence at the San Francisco State University.

Our goal

Our goal is to offer a high quality music education and to establish a music community where participants of all ages and levels have the possibility to learn from renowned performing artists.

HYPERIUM has taken great measures to seek out the finest instructors in the Los Angeles area. Our teachers are award winning , passionate musicians holding graduate performance degrees from USC Thornton School of Music, The Colburn School of Music and various Conservatories in Europe. They dedicated their entire lives to muster the musical idiom. Their lessons have a true academic approach, but of equal importance is to teach the art of music: to read between the lines, to think outside the box and to learn how to express oneself. By tailoring the lessons to an individual, the goal is to lead each student to the fullest potential of his/her talent.
